CUMAC '80s Night

We're already getting questions about how much you'll be asked to invest in your CUMAC '80s Night 2.0 Song Requests.  Ready?  Here's your number: $38.  Why $38?  Because it's odd, making it easiesque (is that a word?) to remember.  Plus, we need more than $20 for a song to hit the number we want to reach.  Plus, we can get it.  Plus, it's not a crazy, "I could never afford that" dollar figure.  And finally, because one of the bigger bands of the 1980s was .38 Special.  So there.  .38 Special dollars for your CUMAC

Please read this email I received from Rev. Juel Nelson of the Franklin Lakes Methodist Church.  CUMAC is on the front lines of the flood war going on in Paterson and they are in desperate need of help.  Is there anything you can do?

Remember what PIL did this year?

CUMAC '80s Night 2.0 is all set to rock your world Saturday night, April 21, 2012. Save that date. It's going to be even more fun with even better songs, more hair, and you won't have to wait in line for food for 10 hours (we promise!). The official kickoff will be at a CUMAC benefit dinner this coming November 1st. Start thinking about your favorite songs from the 1980s. You're gonna need 'em. See ya real soon!

A big reason why CUMAC '80s Night was held on April 2nd was because every dollar raised and every pound of food donated to CUMAC during this time period was tallied by the Feinstein Challenge.  This is a yearly contest, for lack of a better word, where charities raise as much as they can during a specific timeframe.  The Feinstein Challenge folks look at what was raised and provide back to the organization a percentage match in funding.  The more you raise, the better your chance of a larger grant.
